If the floor for an MC20 is around £100k, what would the new GT Trofeo be or worse the Modena?

Extract from 'Motor' magazine of July 1974:

Motor prices 1974.jpeg

Given that 50 years later a decent Bora will cost you well over £100k, what price an MC20 in 2074?

Anyone looking at the price of a V12 E-type and comparing it to the XJ12? Absolute Bargain! Around 80-90k for an early 70's one...Countach 17k, suppose it looked like a spaceship compared to its contemporaries.

we're only guessing. I wouldn't have guessed £60k off a 2023 car!!

you've got to guess the GT Trofeo will be 'worse', based on how its traditonally depreciated.

Be interesting to see where the MC20 is by the end of 2024 … I read somewhere that average depreciation across the brand is around 45% after 3 years with the QP doing worst at around 70%.

There is a lot of competition at the £100k - £150k price points.

Ferrari 488:

Ferrari 458:

Porsche Turbo S:
(cba to get a link because everyone knows them)

McLaren 570:

Aston Martin GT8:

Huracan:

Vanquish S:

New Vantage:

McLaren GT:

McLaren 720S:

My personal choice would be the McLaren GT, it offers everything and does it well and will come with warranty. On looks alone I would go for the MC20, but if I'm going to go for a super car I want the V8 sound.

With all of that in mind, I think there is a chance the MC20 drops below £100k, similar to the McLaren 570S has

I've got a vanquish!

I'd go for the Mclaren 600LT spider at circa £120k(at the min), till the MC20 comes down.
Always been tempted by the Vanquish.

And yes! I'd forgotten about the 600LT, the supposedly "McLaren to buy". However, I did leave out a Porsche 991.2 GT3 as I felt the MC20 wasn't designed for the track.

Could also consider a V10 R8 or AMG GT R

I just think a 911(as an ex 993 owner) is too common!

Cheapest MC20 to open market thus far. Was advertised by Joe Hallam Land Rover yesterday at £145k, now £159k at a dealer nearby:

Cheapest 2023 Granturismo too:

Saw that at 145k yesterday, assumed it was a mistake, a dodgy dealer or there was something wrong with the car lol.

Personally I think the MC20 was too overpriced by 40k to start with and i wouldn't be surprised to see the bottom at around 120k by Xmas but still not for me as the competition ie 458, 488, 610, 911, A10 have all bottomed out and represent a far better investment and in some cases better all round. The GT on the other hand is definitely on my shopping list and at 120k -130k by this time next year they would be hard to resist especially in dark Grey with brown leather.
