Interesting car to learn to drive in. Especially if the throttle body position sensor suddenly starts playing up.
Speaking of 'L' plates, this guy on FB just bought his GT at 18, BEFORE he had passed his test.

He's now passed (with 46 out of 75 on his 'hazard awareness' test ), and has got his personal number-plate. I look forward to meeting him at Sywell!

I would think the insurance would be prohibitive.
Maybe its a fb prank. The GT with the L plates on looks like it may be on a private road and possibly not even moving.
The car he is stood in front of with his personal plate is not the same car.
He says the photo was a friend doing a shoot for him, so yes stationary for some shots. There are plausible pics on FB from him driving through Wales in the rain. He says he has replaced the front bumper since buying it. Says insurance was £4k which sounds about right.
He says he is going to be at Sywell, so we shall see.
I wont ask why he changed the bumper. The L plate picture is an MC shift auto i think. So i cant think why he would change the bumper to a circa 2009 GT or GTs front bumper.
Fair play if it is genuine. I would be amazed at 4k insurance as run of the mill little cars are costing £1500 upwards for first car young drivers.
Cannot tell what is on the lift.

Sounds too low, actually. My nephew was quoted £2k for our old Alfa 147....
I don't think the value of the car really matters risk-wise, it is about how likely you are to kill a dozen people. The underwriters probably think £1,000 for a 1.1 Corsa and then an extra £1,000 per extra 100 hp.
Its also about cost to repair / parts prices. Which is why you get stupid prices for say an Alfa 166 2ltr costing £1200 plus to insure for a driver over 45 with zero no claims as a new driver or 2nd car with their no claims bonus on another vehicle.
In his comments on FB he said £3,900 a year!Wonder what his insurance figure is!
