And there was me thinking you were overcome by modesty and embarassed by my effusive enthusiasm for your planning, C.

Haha! Good man.

Anyway, rudimentary planning is perfect at this point. Although I wonder if local hotels will get a bit jammed over that weekend.

Yeah, I was wondering that as well, but enough on my plate to worry about right now. Can easily make it up there on the day.

I assume there is some forum expertise in the matter of places to stay in the environs of Silverstone

It'd be an early start but easily doable. There's so much going on it would be a shame to miss any of it so I'd want to arrive for the start of the day, whether with hangover from a local hotel or with caffeine from home.

Please excuse my ignorance, but do you have to be a Maserati club member to participate in this? Would love to be part of it if I am around on those dates. Also, very keen to attend some "events" with other maserati owners. I am based in the south east, any events coming up?
Thanks

To attend the event at Silverstone? Certainly not...

If you aren't a member though, expect my cousin Edwin to badger you into signing up ;)

Yes I am very local, 15 miles from the circuit. First port of call is Booking.com to see what is available but I know from when we were running the B & B in 2011/2012 rooms for the big Silverstone events get booked early in the year and by our second year most of our rooms were booked for 2013 by guests before they left us after the 2012 event. If nothing there I can try and suggest a few places that are not on the internet.

Also assuming my building work goes to plan there will be a couple of spare beds at my house in exchange for a couple of beers!

Can you make recommendations of places that are on tinternet?

C

Sure lets have a think.

This is lovely, I know the people that run it

http://www.applecottagebedandbreakfast.co.uk/

The pub I USED to run still does rooms, good for parking etc.,..

http://ploughinnboddington.co.uk/

Another pub with rooms, a bit closer to the circuit but not so good for parking

http://www.bartholomew-arms-blakesley.co.uk/

Another nice pub with accomodation, also run by a friend of mine

Don't know too much about this one but looks quite nice

How is that for starters?

Let me know if you need any more suggestions and I will keep thinking.
