Well, the Larinis have been despatched by the seller and should arrive at my friend's garage this afternoon. With a fair wind, I may be able to fit them in time for Saturday and Brize Norton.

A grand entrance to be heard then elliot haha

Fitted .they sound excellent. But I have an issue with cabin boom at between 2500 and 3000 rpm. Is that just a characteristic of the boxes or is there some way to "tune" them?

Elliot, just keep the revs above 5,000 and it's not an issue anymore.

Thats exactly what I have as well Elliott.

You just have to get used to it and be a bit clever to keep it either side of that revrange to limit the boom.

Enjoy!

I don't hear any boom since I put the larini connection pipes... With the original pipes it was impossible to drive in 3.000 / 3.500 rpm.

As far as I can tell the link pipes go between the end of the H or X pipes and the start of the rear box pipes. BTW, I think the boom is a characteristic of the engine rather than any particular exhaust combination but the exhaust can enhance the fact it is there.

The difference is huge! Pushing the car the sound is the same, loud enough for me :)! But driving slowly it is much more quiet. I assume that the difference is in the connection pipes. Although I've changed the larini non-valved for the valved ones, the boxes are the same.

I've had a word with Larini. Dave, the chap I spoke to was really helpful. Even though I had told him that I had bought them second hand. His first suggestion is that one or both of the cats had blown and that I should get them checked. As they can cause a resonance problem.

I'm having a couple of tyres fitted today, I'll get the cats checked at the same time.

He also mentioned that as the wadding is thermal activated, I need to put 500 miles on the car. This should help. So, I'm moving forward. Slowly. Knowing me, I'll probably end up with a whole Larini system.

:)
