It must be reassuring and encouraging for black men and women to see people who look like them visible in luxury advertisements like this, whether as aspirational observers, decorative adornments or passionate owners, after 150 years of being marginalised or exploited in advertising. It seems very odd to me that a white person might feel somehow critical or offended by this.
