The beast is finally finished and was unveiled on Thursday although I'm pretty sure a fair few of you weren't even aware she was off the road whilst undergoing cosmetic surgery. That was deliberate in order to spare the blushes of the assailant who frequents this board. After the assault, it was decided that she should be turned into something unique and, after 6 months hard work, I think we have succeeded. The rear conversion was nowhere near as straightforward as it is usually considered to be. In short, it was a ba5tard of biblical proportions as nothing off the coupe is the same as the spyder, including the 4200 rear lights, which surprised the sh!t out of me! The whole rear profile is different and getting 3200 metal to fit is a pig as all the important dimensions are different. I reckon this is why the conversion normally uses the 4200 boot lid with the small lights cut in and the 3200 light boxes are 'bogged' with filler to match the different profile between the two. I 'cut and shut' the 3200 boot rear face onto the spyder frame so all the visible rear end is off a 3200. There was a lot of finessing to get everything lined up and looking right and it was a good job I had plenty of time off, so thanks again Robert! The colour change was straight forward but very labour intensive, the electrics were straight forward but fiddly and reassembly was a pain in the a55. Would I do it again? Almost certainly not but I'm very glad a did it once.

Wow on two fronts. Firstly, I didn't realise just how much damage had been done to the rear of the car. But secondly, the transformation is fantastic. I LOVE the lights and the colour!!!! Even though you had some 'moments' where you needed to vent, the end result is amazing. I'm sorry I wasn't there on Thursday to see it in person.

The wheels wouldn't be my choice, but the rear end and colour look superb, well done.

Didn't even know you had a bump...missed that one!
Looks great, looking forward to seeing it at a Northern meet.
Facelift front and rear bumpers too!

Just fantastic Ben. Well done for sticking with it. Can't wait to see her in the flesh.
