Main dealer vs standard garage service

Hi All,

I have a 2017 ghibli diesel which is just coming up to 3 year service. I have been quoted £765 by Maserati for this to be done by them!

I have found parts on scuderiaparts for circa £100.

My question is If I can get a service for £300 by a garage using OEM parts would the value of the difference (£465) Offset the loss when selling for not having a full Maserati service history

I love the car and the brand but can’t help think £765 is daylight robbery and for a car that will probably be worth low £20’s when I come to sell it will that fmsh make much difference?

There is a halfway house, which is an independent specialists. They will probably do a good price and, crucially, have the gubbins to reset the service interval, which needs a specific (if not special) tool.

For a main dealer that is not actually a bad price, I would take it. Is that inc vat or plus?

Where you score with the Main Dealers is software updates and there will be several for all the systems.
I believe any Good Garage will do a Good Job and some people still prefer Windows 95.

I assume you’re referring to the diagnosis equipment software update? As a main dealer never updated anything on my cars (ECU, GPS etc...)

Every Main Dealer I have worked for including Maserati I have updated many control units systems etc all part of a proper service.
Ask your Dealer the question why aren't they doing it ?
