Luggage racks

Anyone ever fitted one of this kind of thing to a Spyder? I hope to be doing some summer touring and visits to the house in France and may need a bit of extra space...especially if I take the (1-year-old) boy along as he doesn't tend to travel light.

Not to mention the cases of wine and other goodies I hope to pick up on the way.

The boot lid seems plenty strong enough.

Not for me either, I like to keep my stuff inside. However, if you need to, do it.

Yeah, its only as a last resort!

I'd rather this and the Spyder than a saloon/hatchback : )

Creative packing required. Soft bags of varying sizes, pack things like towels into crevices between the luggage and don't forget to use the spare wheel well. My old 3200 once carried enough luggage/stuff for 2 adults & 2 kids for a week's holiday - all contained in the boot.
