Hi
Anyone know if its possible to lower a gransport by winding down the suspension coils without completely removing the shockers from the vehicle?

seems like alot of effort if they need to be removed for a small drop..

It can be done, you will have to take it to the the dealer to be done and they will do a full geo for about £250 and drop it as you want.

I would also consider fitting Formula Dynamics lowering springs too.

thanks Conaero! makes it easier if i ever need to reset the car to stock.

my understanding of the FD springs is that they require removal of the shockers.

Yes that is correct. The issue is, that the stock spring might not drop to the desired height if you simple wind them up or out. Its better to start with the correct springs.

I understand that the FD springs are excellent items, but I have lowered my 4200 by using a "C" spanner and winding the coil overs to my required new height.

I went for a rather low setting that looks very good, but is a bit of a pain when it comes to speed bumps!!

No issues as I had a full 4 wheel alignment done and adjusted.
The rear camber is still right on the upper limit but there's no problem that I can see and I have done about 15k miles since doing it.

Patt in Bristol lowered his GS, it was very low and I am sure there are photos on here or on the old maserati forum site.

IIRC Pat lowered his Rame Ghibli on the FD springs. The springs themselves drop the car 10mm, but Pat added another 10mm or so. The stance looked great, mind you the car was stunning all round.

A stunner was the rame!!

That car was low and depends really how low you want it

Around here the bumps are massive and common

The compact we have is lowered and its annoying me im leaving it as it is to sell as it attracts many people then buy mrs something better to use
