For 40k it is gorgeous, yes it is expensive but what else is out there for 40k?? Cant get a Gallardo for that price nor a good 360 (45k onwards) Granturismo? Not many to choose from. Ferrari 355? Nice but you may want something more modern. Could buy a 911 but they are pretty dull unless it is a GT model. If you look at the GS Spyder from the point i have just made, it is a stunning car for the money as it is so exclusive and looks to die for. If i had around 40k, i would offer 38.5k for it and spend the remaining 1500 quid on a nice driving holiday.

At GBP 30K the GS Spider is a very appealing car. However for GBP 40K you can pick up a good Ferrari 360 Spider, Ferrari 550, and for just a bit more an early 612.

A 612 is £60k, that's a long way apart. 360's are pretty troublesome and would have done a few miles if it was sub £40k as would a 550. A £36k GS Spyder is virtually new, especially the one Marios mentioned with 4500 miles, I've seen it.

I have owned 2 360s and they were very reliable. Right now they are changing hands in the trade for well under GBP 40k for a car with 30+k miles on it. Same holds for the 550. 612s are now GBP 50k trade cars and still sinking.

I think I would take a GS over a 360..I had one for a week and never really liked it that much.....But thats just my taste....Was not fussed on the noise they make..It was just to much of a tiny noise where as the GS is a deeper noise........Still think 40k is far too much for a GS Spyder though....

I've never owned one so you're far more qualified to speak on the matter. As far as prices though, you'd be looking at a 13 yr old 550 or about the same age 360. The 612 is lovely but at least 50% dearer than a GS Spyder. The 360 & 550 are pretty dated in the looks department too.

Agree about the 360, would rather buy a 355 as the 360 does look a bit dated now. 550 though i think is still a great looking car.

That was a nice car what ADG had in. I think there is still a lot of money for the GS Spyder to lose, when a larger percentage of the Granturismo 4.2 hits 37-40k, the GS Spyder will have to come down in price regardless how rare it is.

I think it depends on what you're looking for. A GS Spyder isnt the best drivers car in the world, but if you've owned (as Boxer sounds like he has!) or currently own some nice stuff, it holds appeal. Massive appear IMPO

Thinking it through, what I am looking for is a good convertible drivers car to use as a daily driver for the next 12-24 months. I don't want to spend a fortune or loss a ton on depreciation. Hence a price target of mid to high GBP 20k's.

I did own a GB coupe a few years ago for a short period and remember it as a decent drivers car, OK gearbox, great engine, and good soundtrack. Seats and driving positoin were excellent.

I am fortunate enough to own a couple of other nice cars so this is more about getting a good DD than acquiring a dream driving machine.

You will struggle to get a GS Spyder fot under 30k...The one at ADG bucked the trend for some reason.....You will have the pic of non GS Spyders for your budget though...

Agree with the above. There was one for sale for £29,995 and it went fast so that is the floor for the next few years I feel.

It sold for just over £28k and was on the market for quite a while. If £28k is retail, then they are changing hands in the trade for £23-25k.

It was originally up for 33k so yes they are changing hands for a lot less than the original price.
