Certainly worth investigating if the price is right.
My guess would be the seller has already investigated so I would advise caution and ask many questions as you have mechanical knowledge and experience.

For a diesel not to start either is physically knackered (water ingest) or the fuel is not entering the bores at the correct pressure.

i did'nt know if it was some ones car on here with the problem,

The add says non start, its done only 8000 mls and 1 owner, also it show the dash coming on etc,
and the eml light on etc,
well that,s not too sad news for me , i know its a eco boost vm motori engine, and seems on paper quick,a good strong zf box
i have enjoyed my 2007 executive for 2 years plus and looking to update , i like the shape of these, just may be a way for me to change, my QP ain't missed a beat.
thanks for your replies

hi yes it does,
do you remember me purchasing this from this site actually, it was around march 2018
so not as long as i first thought from dean rowe, i am just not sure what mine would fetch, no issues no faults, drives great , just mot'd and 4 new tyres, had new engine mounts and front and rear discs and pads last year, 2 x front lower shock bushes, drives fantastic

Remember it well and knew it was Dean's old car.
He has a habit of buying them back you know.

i am just debating how much to up go on the ghibli ?

what would be a realistic price for mine at the moment do we think ? 71,000mls all books etc,

Diesel Ghibli now going through the auctions from about 12k so you can get one that actually works for not a lot of dough. I don’t think there’s enough margin to bother trying to fix a broken one, no matter how low the mileage etc.

Private sale now from 15k for high miles to 20k for low low miles. And the petrol is much better in many ways, although the diesel isn’t too bad.

I wouldn’t go near it.

Ive sent you a direct message.
Ive seen every sort of possible issue on these.
but as above the possibilities are endless without knowing a bit about the car.
could be hydro locked
could be something as stupid as a £100 sensor.

Totally agree and still think the seller would know more and guess the car has already been checked and repair costs prohibitive relative to it's value or just can't afford it.
