Oh - and one other thing I forgot: when I put the key in the ignition and turn to MAR (before I fire up) I don't get the six(?) "peep" noises that I hear from other cars. There are no peeps at all - is this an issue? The speaker obviously works as it "peeps" if I open the door with the key in the ignition and if I turn off when still in gear and not park.
On my GS with the CC gearbox, it only peeps if you left it in neutral when you last turned the car off. It should be left gear. Don’t know if this the same.

I think the beeps are the tracker low batt warning. Mine does it and it does not come from the main warning speaker but from glovebox area I think.

There are very many 3rd party trackers that you can buy these days for not a lot of money (just check Alibaba) - £30 - £50 plus the cost of a normal data SIM contract. A black box you mount / hide somewhere in the car. Then a phone app shows you where the car is. Either rechargeable or hard wired. Has anyone installed one of these? Any recommendations? My insurance doesn't require one but can't be a bad thing to have?

To be honest; I would not want any of my cars back after some dirty s c u m bag has had broken into it, driven it as he stole it and no-doubt cause irreparable damage to the innards.

Do trackers come as standard? How do i know if my car has a tracker? Sorry - total newbie!
All Maseratis coming into the Uk were fitted with Navtrak by Maserati GB before sale. The internal batteries tend to die after about 10 years, and then drain the car battery when parked up. They can be disconnected quite easily. If your cooling fans come on off erratically, as mine did for several years, the fault could be the cooling fan resistor. Mine was badly overheated and partially melted. About £60 p/no 32263140

Hi Chiveroni, When I contacted Vodaphone when I bought the car and when I found out how much they wanted per year to activate the Maserati's tracker I decided to buy another one which I have fitted - not difficult. I have one from Global Trackers Ltd
www.global-trackers.co.uk
They charge me approx.. £4.00 per month and although I can't remember what I paid for it it wouldn't have been expensive. Been working for a few years now and any problems I have had I just contact GT's and they sort it. Usual problem in the past has been using their app on my phone but now seems all OK.

Looks like your questions have been answered by our in-house experts already, isn’t this a fab forum? Interesting about the airco, in the QPV it works like a dream and I live in a hot climate. I leave mine on 20.

Just a word of caution on the engine temperature. This is water temperature, which heats up quicker than the oil temperature. So don't floor it when the gauge moves, give it a bit more time to get the oil to operating temperature. The engines are pretty bullet proof but no point in tempting fate.

Then the mirrors. The mechanism is not the sturdiest, nor is the switch. So unless you really have to, I would be cautious with using it, you will thank me later.

Re the seat heating coming on, welcome to Italian electrical systems ;) - just make sure the battery is in excellent condition and keep it charged with a trickle charger if you don’t use it every week. That’ll avoid a lot of inexplicable and random problems.

Lastly, make sure you use the Sport button liberally and you’ll never need to use the sound system
It strikes me that all of that advice is exactly how I would have responded. 100% !
