How long till we see this technology in road cars, or is it already being used?

I suppose the Maclaren would be a good test bed.

Anyone know anymore?

A bit pointless I would have thought Matt. Road cars don't generate enough downforce to warrant it. It wouldn't be worth the effort as it would be open almost all the time and there would be a life long weight penalty re fuel consumption to make it worthwhile. IMO, it only has a gimmick value.

Had an excellent exciting country lane drive over to Heythrop yesterday, used my DRS button several times and it seemed worked a treat , or was that 3rd and my right foot button

Are we talking KERS (regenerative braking) or DRS, the removal of downforce in straight lines??

KERS on the new Jag apparently...

The original thread was talking Kers Lewis , and your right its supposed to be intergrated into the new Jag , i agree with Ian thats its really a gimmick and will have little or miniscule effect on any road going car , other than a road going electric driven vehicle, i was being a bit perdantic and mickey taking

Yes, Kers, not DRS Benny, that is downforce related and indeed not relevant on the road.

Ill tell you what, I have just re read that article and it should be a wake up call for Maserati. Jags are on the up and if they can loose the whiffy, cigar and smoking jacket tag, they will be a force to be reconed with.

0-60 in 4.4 secs
41 mpg
Top Speed 186mph
165kg emissions

If it was not written in black and white, you would never believe it.

www.sportsjaguar.com anyone?

Not seen him in a while Loz he is probably spending his nights putting his car back together after he systematically took it apart for the how to guide section, ha ha.
