It is indeed a magnificent car. Here a small clip of the car driving off after a Dutch Maserati Chat event in the harbour area of Rotterdam:

Do you reckon the conversion has increased the value of an MCV or destroyed it?

Increased it... Those lights make the rear of the car so much nicer, distinct etc. Its a shame they didn't do a European option for those lights, I fully understand that Maserati needs the US market to survive, didn't they make similar design mistakes in the 70's with silly bumpers for the US market?

I'm the other way...I don't think it will add to it as the MC Victory is so rare punters in years to come will want original.........I think it will be a very limited market...Saying that though it someone really wants it I suppose they will pay...

I should correct it andy.....
I would do it to a GS & the resale will go up but will not do it on an MC as its a shame on the car

I agree too. I certainly see the appeal but I don't think he should have done it on an MCV.

Still, the first owner of the MCV did this conversion when the car was brandnew.
The second and current owner, bought this converted MCV just BECAUSE of the conversion.
In my opinion it is very hard to say what the influence of the conversion is on the resale value.
You only need one buyer that loves those boomeranglights in the end.

My GS will be converted next winter, because looking at that factory rearend of my GS, makes me want my 3200 back, every time again.
Parts are quite expensive though; just the arches (used!) are sold here for about 700 euro's each.....

Yes, and no problem, i will inform you about the things we are going through during the conversion.
Biggest challenge is to spray as less parts as possible, without color match problems.
The trunkhood of the 3200 will be resprayed as often as is needed, to get it matching with the sidewings.
We also intend NOT to cut any original parts of the body, just adding some extra material under the arches from a donor 3200.
I intend to make the conversion reversable with only some spraywork at the rearcorners.
I doubt if anyone ever would want the rearend converted to original again though.

But....if i had such a wonderfull AC as you have, i would reconcider buying a GS and doing the expensive conversion on top of that.
I still love the burbling sound of the 3200GT.
