Police clocked Joseph Carbone driving 113 miles an hour on the LIE early Wednesday morning, but the Long Island resident insists they're wrong: he was going faster.

Cops allege that when they pulled Carbone's $80,000 Maserati over at around 3 am, the driver told them to check their radar equipment because he was really going 135 miles an hour.

And as if that wasn't bad enough, Carbone proceeded to tell the officer that that he had been drinking.

Police arrested him for the fourth time in six years and confiscated the shiny sports car.

Ha Ha...Just like my Dad...when I was just a boy my dad was pulled over on the M6 by Traffic Cops in his Audi 200 Turbo.

PC; "Do you realise I had to do over 145mph to catch you up"

Dad " Don't you think that was a bit bloddy dangerous?"

JP "You will receive a driving ban for a period of 12 months and a fine of £500 + costs..." Not his first and sadly not his last!

Andy anyone who knows me will tell you that the Maserati is wasted on me........I just don't drive very fast anymore. Yes when I was younger I would belt the **** out of my car but I have mellowed with age and by and large I just don't drive that fast anymore so yes getting done for a lousy 58 mph really has got to me

UM I don't think it's wasted on you as you don't drive fast everywhere....You don't have to to appreciate the car. A maserati is a thing of beauty and filled with passion...If you left it in the garage and just looked at it 24 hours a day I could understand that to. A trip to the shops at 30 mph is just as much of an adventure as doing 120mph on a track...You own a Maserati, life is good.
