and the public will be shafted at the charging points, there needs to be a huge number of charging stations as far as i can see to accommodate folk that cannot charge at home otherwise can you imagine the queues building up especially when more and more people buy ev's and a wait time of 20/30 minutes

In the USA the government are giving incentives to build charging stations, pretty much anywhere, this way there are more accessible for those who can't charge at home.
So if you can charge your car whilst doing your weekly shopping it kills two birds with one stone. And with more charging station, there are less queues for them.

When was the last time you saw a charging station at Tesco?

However, this would require our government to be forward thinking rather than acting upon the latest media scandal. So it won't happen.

they need to provide proper incentives to landlords of blocks of flats/apartments to install a good number of charging points, cant see landlords spending hundreds of thousands of their own money anytime soon

We are basically installing the infrastructure to support four chargers at each school under construction here at the moment. Our standard elementary school has roughly 100 total employees...including some who rely on public transit or carpooling. But 1. that's not enough to support 50 people who want to charge their cars while doing their job, and 2. the school system is the non-profit that teaches reading, not a utility provider...

There’s loads of them in supermarkets; Dover, Deal, Whitfield
They are all catching up: Tesco/Podpoint/VW - 400 installs; Waitrose in Marlborough and elsewhere; Booths too - Instavolt in Lytham and elsewhere; Lidl/Aldi? Honiton and new store in Exeter. Incidentally it looks like theAldi/Lidl manager in Exeter May have an Aston - parked discretely many times

It's great that many Supermarkets have EV chargers, but the vast majority are 7kwph, so would take a day to charge a full EV.

They are now switching for free to pay with TESCO now charging 28p pkwh, and other places are turning them off including TESLA Destination points as the cost makes it prohibitive.

Last year I spent a week in S.London who had a 'great' system with EV Charging points in the lamp posts... unfortunately the bays are open to all so local residents in non EVs park in them and did not move all week as people use the train and tube.

We’re investing in ‘super chargers’ in California (initially) the first roll out of 7 should be done by March. And then potentially up to 500! But will have to do a bit of refinancing for that many.

The total potential is in excess of 1500.

I've certainly not seen any in any of the super markets near me.
Here, IKEA has four, Asda the same, a shopping centre I visit has two but it's outside the vets who owns a tesla so only one really as it always seems to be on it

I go there at least three times a week and I've never seen it unoccupied

A funny thought. When people panic bought fuel and there were queues for miles to fill an ICE car with fuel that takes 5 mins. What happens if that same situation if it happened for EV's?

Just a thought.
