Is it possible to retrofit the tyre pressure system on a Maserati Gran turismo?

Getting to know the Granturismo and noticed that it does not have the tyre pressure system installed .
Is it possible to fit it ( using factory parts) or should I rejoice an unreliable expensive system was not specced by the first owner?
My 6 year old Son's new car seat arrived today so for the first time the whole family got to enjoy a spin in our 'new' car: he loves the roar of the engine!!! Told him you wait until the x pipe and sports cats are fitted....!
What a shame his generation only have tyre roar to look forward to with electric noddy cars: I'm looking forward to taking him through a tunnel with the mods installed.....Windows open, natch!

I was asking how much it would cost to get rid of such a system on my daughters fiat 500 as it’s so unreliable and my wife has had flat tyres for 18months in her vauxhall according to the tps.

Not had a problem with the Maserati, but would not be bothered if I didnt have it.

The others are right it’s a pain in that @rse

If you did want to do it here is the key headers:

Purchase 4 genuine TPMS sensors and have your tyres removed and fitted (£700)

Buy the Beru TPMS ecu and install it in the drivers footwell (£200)

Replace the roof button pack with the TPMS reset button (£500)

Download your proxy file, have it sent to Italy for updating, reload and proxy align, relearn the system.

Voila!….you now have a TPMS system that will cause you no end of grief and put pretty lights up on your dash.

Yep, I'm glad the original purchaser didn't spec it on mine!

I used to religiously check all fluids and tyre pressures weekly on all cars I've had, but now tend to do it whenever I'm washing them.
To be fair, if a tyre is more than a few psi down, you can normally feel it when driving, or see it when parked. Although low profile tyres don't help.

Thanks very much everyone ( esp conaero, for that comprehensive costing !!) - first time I'm glad not to have an option on a car!

Well, thank you very much Sir; very kind of you to say so. It's been pointed out to me that I missed out a VW Scirroco and our much loved Renault 5 Monaco 1.7 - a car I regretted selling so much, I very nearly bought again when a low mileage one popped up on eBay! Was an excellent Q car and had load carrying capacity akin to a tardis!
