Just got off the phone to Italy arranging a freebie stop over in Modena with the chap I know in the factory and he or rather his wife told me that the 4C is being made ready for the world to see and its all very hush hush to protect the unveiling but even more intrigueing is that no-one from the production is allowed into a special sealed off area in which sits a 4C but it has a gaping front grill and looks slightly bigger all round. The engine sent to the secret den 2 months ago was a twin turbo V6 coupled to a 458 gearbox. I wonder what that might be..............................................................

I'm over there in early May and will get him Pis..d..............that should do it.

the twin turbo V6 was earmarked for the 159 GTA.. along with the V8
now ive heard things.. the 4C having a 2.0 twin turbo in the GTA version (or race) OR VERY Limited 4C Race (GTA) version running something so sweet im getting a semi just thinking about it...

yes m8 its likely that the Maserati will a twin turbo v6, the 4C in Race version will likely only be a 4pot twin turbo

Pretty sure the inference was 'it is definately not an Alfa 4C varient' so based on the fact the 4C has a carbon tub and is going to be quick with just a 4 pot 1750 turbo lump just imagine what we can expect from a V6 twin turbo pushing out close to 450bhp or more. Maserati may have cottoned on to the fact they need a Halo car at the popular end..........Porsche turbo comes to mind because down the road they don't even admit that Porsche is considered competition.

There has been lots of talk of a MAserati version based on the 4C.......Hope its right as we don't need another Alfa version and to be honest I wouldn't imagine Alfa have the money to develope another halo car when they have a very small range of cars...2 at the moment...
