I'm seriously thinking of getting a used Diesel Ghibli when I need to change the 335D. It ticks all the boxes and there should, hopefully, be plenty of them to choose from in a couple of years.

Yup, if it's anywhere near as good as my Jag 3l diesel XFS I would be tempted too!
cheers wattie

The Ghibli is very light on standard spec. Things like xenons, heated seats, electric seats, metallic, shift paddles, Skyhook, tints, wheels bigger than 18" are options so it is easy to load up the price.

It is Matt but at least you get the paddle shift to make it more interesting.

My Verso 2.2D has paddle shift.. Why, I will never know! I can only imagine that paddles in the Ghibli will actually make it more interesting.

Had a good look at the new Ghibli at Wilton House today, and was underwhelmed. Just looked liked a functional 4 door car. From a Maserati I want more than that - I want beauty. It's not a patch (looks-wise) on a QPV or Gran Tourismo.

The new QP they had was better than I expected though. I hadn't particularly liked the pictures in the press, but in the metal it was tempting. But the car shown was £110k, which is a lot for a family lugging school run car which is what I use my current QP for. When it's lost 70% of that in 3 years time though...

Bear in mind the V6 QP, roughly same performance as old 4.7 QP and £30k cheaper than the V8.

This is turning out to be a great car for the money....WOnder who will be the first forum member to buy one.

Very probably me.

I think I'll be getting the 325bhp one and chipping it. I'm not wetting myself over the Ghibli, but I'm overdue a new entry on my signature.

And, as Leslie Crowther put it, 'The Price is Right'.

Well, like a number of us here I got the dealer price list through the post, and couldn't believe the 'Back to the '80's' price list. I've been hugely critical in recent years of Maserati hiking their prices in 2007 after the end of the 4200 production run, now it looks like someone has woken up and realized that there are a lot more potential buyers around the 50-70K range.

None of the Ferrari techonology ever filtered down to the 2007-13 cars, and yet you could pay upwards of 115K for a new Maser, which I wasn't prepared to do for some fancy daytime running lights.

I'll go and see the dealer shortly, but I'm in no rush seeing as they don't have any available until the late autumn. I'll probably go White with Burgundy interior, take the B&W ICE and forget most of the other optional extras. Oh, and probably call up FD also for the usual tweaks.

The Ghibli is on show in central Edinburgh this coming w/e so I will go and have a look. The cheaper petrol car makes sense as its in the lower car tax bracket, is well priced if you go ultra light on the options (manual seats, no skyhook, keep the 18" wheels etc. In fact just take tints, HFS and metallic?) and look at a remap later on.

Anyone know service interval/prices yet?

It all made sense when they priced the GranTurismo in 07 then.....

On the flip side, residuals are good, as is reliability an they will happily sell new GranTurismo at good discounts.

That's my thinking. The cheaper model is clearly detuned so it shouldn't be too hard to get it close to where it needs to be. I think the 18" wheels look a bit rubbish so I would probably have 19" or 20" boots as an option.

Not sure about the service intervals, but I doubt it is going to cost me any more than my last few years of Maserati motoring.
