Always in a locked garage when not in use, and your works have a secure locked parking lot. be creative with your employment, try some annoy quotes online don't give your car reg and use a fake name to work out the best description for your employment. cheaper insurance if no children are carried in the vehicle on a regular bases, ie if you don't have kids.. (Nothing you can do about it if you do have children expect maybe not mentioning them if not asked.. )
Car is as standard from factory always helps. (If you have updated alloys etc, then that is how you bought it, you didn't put them on yourself....)
Postcode is a major factor... Do you still live you mom and dad in the middle of nowhere where nothing ever happens?
I found my wife cost more to be put on the insurance than left alone...but whole other story there.
Multi car policy's can work out cheaper even if you Personally don't own the car ie its your "wife's" and currently "insured" with someone else tell them you agree to bring the car over when the policy runs out... I find 11months is a good number to have left on the "second" car....

I would advise that you don't try and 'beat the system' but utilise one of the multicar offers. Then you will have legitimate insurance on which you can safely claim. Assuming you have two cars in the family, and two potential drivers - I would recommend Admiral Multicar with each car set for both drivers (assuming both have had existing insurance and with a few years NCB). It doesn't matter that anyone else wont drive your pride-and-joy, naming them is enough to bring the premium down.

I'll cite an example:- my wife has a mini - I have the masser. Initially both separately insured using the online 'compare insurance' websites (and for the masser I shopped around a lot!). Then another car came into use for me (taking things up the tip and collecting from B&Q). We ended up insuring all three cars (for both me and my wife) with Admiral Multicar for £80/yr less than the mini and masser on their own. All convictions declared in both cases. Plus fully agreed annual mileage, and value.

And I'm happy with that.

I'm sure I posted this last night, but it seems to have vanished.
Just got a multicar quote from Admiral. Both the 147 and the Maser are due early next month as we used to have an Admiral policy, but they wahcked the price up.
Just come back at £719 which is £200 down on the combined for both of us with previous quotes.

I found that if you are already with either Admiral or Elephant and get your renewal through, go to the other online and get a quote , it will most likely be cheaper, then ring the renewal, don't forget to use "no to 0845 number" and tell them the quote they will then look it up and match it altering your quote so you don't have to go through the new payment process. They are after all both the same company !!!
I do always check other quotes as well, looking for cheaper.

Shop around, use every comparison site out there (they all have different deals) and the others who aren't on those sites. If you're still struggling then find a good broker (plenty of recommendations on here) to dig a bit deeper for you/speak directly to underwriters etc.
Oh, and tell the full truth! Insurance based on creative information is a recipe for potential future disaster IMO. Maseratis are rarely involved in cheap claims/accidents, so professional investigators and claims handlers will be looking for a way out if they can find it.

I did find with Admiral that if you have a windscreen go they for some reason are not linked to Autoglass, as I found out when the Disco 3 had two windscreens go in the space of a week following some farm lorry still paid the first £75 but had to go though some other company

It does seem to get weirder. I tried direct line for a multicar quote. Point blank refused with a tracker on the Maser. Fair enough I thought, maybe I can save enough to make it worth while.
Not quite, but out of curiosity, I changed the Admiral quote to have a tracker, so see what that would save. And the premium went *UP*?!

We got a good deal on one of ours from Aviva, because we hold other insurance with them, they gave us a really good price..!!

I have decided to do the rounds this year and try them all on Multicar and see what happens, some actually seem to be more expensive than individual policies, so watch out.

I'm with admiral. The price has reduced over the past 3 years. I just asked about European breakdown cover as well. A mere £57.50 including home start etc. The guy talking to me didnt believe it either. I snapped it up.

I wish I knew! It's through Admiral and I trust them so as soon as the docs arrive I'll post it.
