Thanks for the suggestions, which I've followed up. The best deal for me in North London was with Privilege - £498, which is a £300 saving compared to the renewal from CCI. Excellent news!

Thanks all, Peter

I'm up the road in Southgate. I'm renewing my QP with Privilege. I was with Admiral multi. However, if I insure both cars that were on the Admiral policy separately with Privilege, I save almost ONE THOUSAND POUNDS !!!!

Admiral tried to do me up on renewal....the sods.

4200...£368. Max NCD Protected, Legal Cover, European Cover, 6K miles per year, Extended Personal Injury, Windscreen Cover, etc. 2 Drivers......!!
That's with the AA..!! Who offer a Saga Policy and are cheaper than Saga..!! Excess is £100 Voluntary and £250 Compulsory I think..!!

They will automatically renew next year at their highest rates (mine went up 50%) so keep an eye out and shop around to avoid getting stung.

It's very poor practice IMHO....it only means we regard insurance companies as worse than the banks Act

Insured five cars today for £1260, with a mixture of companies. Bit different to the £2600 renewal I received from Admiral.

Even today, Admiral were over-quoting, despite an earlier conversation on Monday of this week where they agreed some prices. Today they wouldn't honour them.

I'm sure the same will happen at renewal, and I'll be back on the internet and phones to them all.

It seems like the only way to stop being ripped off, do the rounds and find the best deal per car, multicar seems a right load of rubbish but ideal if you want your money stolen..!!

Not at all. I saved a shed load with Admiral, twice. They sucked on renewal last time, though, so I went individual, but back on multi now.

Hi all

Just received my insurance renewal notice for my 52-plate 4200 cambiocorsa. It's insured with Competition Car Insurance through RK Harrison brokers. I have mileage restriction (<4000 per year), policy holder only insured, Tracker enabled, 9 years NCB, £250 excess, garaged overnight. Also no third party cover for other cars. The premium has increased markedly £502 in 2011, £688 in 2012 and now they are asking for £815. I'm thinking that it's time to shop around and would be pleased to hear of other insurers that are used and if possible an approx premium that is paid. I'm in Enfield, North London, which I don't think is a particularly high risk area.

Many thanks, Peter.

Hi there,
£360 fully comp from Admiral for my 55 plate Gransport

£368 I think it was for fully comp, NCD protected, Legal Cover, Euro Tavel, Additional Personal Accident of £20K, Windscreen etc. £100 Vol. Excess, £250 Compulsory, with 6K miles. That was with the AA and for the 07 4200CC

My total cost for the year is £1380, that includes my GS a 2005 DB9, a 1995 Gul yellow Volvo 850 T5-R, a 2002 Volvo S40 2.0 sport, and 2009 Fiat Grande Punto.
The Aston and The GS are restricted to 6000 miles.

Hex,
That does not sound that bad actually for the amount of vehicles, is that a Multicar Policy, or individual..??

Yes it's a multicar policy, the renewal was actually £1780.12. I made another quote online and hey presto a much reduced quote.
I've done this for the last four years, usually with savings off of the premiums of many hundreds.

Hex,
What insurer is that policy with, it would be helpful for members to know of a good deal, so they can try their own combinations..??
