Hi all

Just received my insurance renewal notice for my 52-plate 4200 cambiocorsa. It's insured with Competition Car Insurance through RK Harrison brokers. I have mileage restriction (<4000 per year), policy holder only insured, Tracker enabled, 9 years NCB, £250 excess, garaged overnight. Also no third party cover for other cars. The premium has increased markedly £502 in 2011, £688 in 2012 and now they are asking for £815. I'm thinking that it's time to shop around and would be pleased to hear of other insurers that are used and if possible an approx premium that is paid. I'm in Enfield, North London, which I don't think is a particularly high risk area.

Many thanks, Peter.

How about £345 with Privilege, for my QP?

I'm 48, no accidents or points, have Susie on the policy, 10 years NCB, £350 excess and garaged overnight in NG33 - Lincolnshire. The price goes UP if it's just me on the policy - consider if you can add someone, even if they never drive the car.

Was with CCI through a broker, then renewal came...no good.
Presently using APlan and paying around £500, full NCD etc etc
Renewal up in a few months again...

42, no garage, no tracker, 5 y NCD £750 IIRC on Admiral Multicar

C

45, no garage, 7yrs, admiral and would be paying less than that if I lived 10 miles further north apparently, but paying a lot more because of my postcode.

It really is a lottery out there.

Just spoke to mannings and they have shaved £300 off my premium, extended the European cover, reduced the excess by £300 and included track days (with some conditions so Llandow isn't covered unfortunately) and a few other nice bits & bobs including use of a specialist repair shop as long as they sign off on an estimate.

Will see what admiral can offer in order to keep my business, but doubt they can come near.

As long as my cover goes up and my premium goes down, I'm in that race - foot flat to the floor, teeth gritted and fingernails dug into the steering wheel...
