I wish I had the energy and enthusiasm I had in my 40's approaching 60 I seem to be waining.
Can't wait to see this car finished.

It's all down to the preparation it's a bit like wax on wax off.

If I was in my 20s it’d be done by now. I remember painting a MG Midget on New Years Day while still wearing the dinner jacket from the night before. It was a sh!tty job but I was pis5ed and it was over quickly. Normal night on the lash then!

isn't 600 too course, remind me, are you just doing all the donkey work and then getting it to a paint shop for final colour coat ?

Still got to do 800 before top coat. Apparently 600 is ok for flat colours but need to go to 800 for metallic.

Nope I’m doing top coat too.

The only things I won’t have done on this car will be rollcage fab and engine bore and balance.

full respray without a booth, that's brave especially after all the hard work you've put in, i've done the odd full resprays in my younger days many moons ago, either outside on dry sunny days or in a garage, all good but never 100% due to dust, fluff, flies etc landing on the odd panel etc

Yep I reckon I’ve got two days work to clean the garage. I’ll then cover the walls with plastic and mop the floor so it’s damp.

I’ve also found that the disposable painters overalls you get are terrible for fibres so bought a washable Farcela one.
