I’ve also found that the disposable painters overalls you get are terrible for fibres so bought a washable Farcela one.

when in garage just wore mechanics overalls and if outside just normal clothes, on the odd few where i wanted a 110% job i would do all the donkey work and then get a local body shop to spray the colour in their booths, looked gorgeous when back, are you not just a tad nervous in making any mistakes or are you not too bothered ?

Oh yeah very nervous!! But if it goes to rat poo I just do it again. Although I was told the professionalism in painting is actually sorting the mess bits out rather than the stuff in the booth. So we’ll see.

I was talking to a guy at the company I drive for , they're running out of parts weekly because they all come from China
Last week they received their first container this year , they normally get 3 a month

Because of cv19 there's a shortage of shipping containers , they're all stuck in ports, the ships aren't leaving because they won't sail with empty containers

Last year to get a container China > UK was £1600 , now £10,000

That must've killed importing cars dead

I couldn’t do it, just cannot get bodywork to go well. Odd having been a detailer.

I can’t stand it either, the only thing in the back of my mind is virtually every pro paint job I’ve had done there has been something wrong with.

One of the guys on the Vette forum bought a carbon splitter. Shipped here by one of those PO Box type companies that people use mainly for clothes and the like. The charges weren’t notified up front. After it arrived they took $1000 from his card for the shipping plus tax and duty on the $500 dollar splitter and the $1000 shipping

A few years ago I sold something on ebay to a guy in mexico , it was only about £150, he paid shipping , the day he got it he wanted to send it back , nothing wrong with it, just changed his mind, OK but i'm not paying the postage , it'd cost him £30 to get it there, a few days later a DHL box arrives , £40 to send it back only it's got a customs and shipping charge attached because he's valued it at £150

I sent DHL proof it was a return and my property , it took 6 months to sort it out , about 15 emails, phone calls , eventually they agreed nothing was due

2 weeks later I get a final demand letter before court proceedings and bailiffs

**** me !!!!

I no longer accept international returns
