Trying too hard to be a Ferrari IMO and I agree with Dicky, a bit too dear with that mileage.

The Ferrari link is the reason I didnt go for red myself. My previous car was red and I reckon GS's and 4200's look stunning in this combo, but I wanted my car to be a Maserati not labelled as a wannabe Ferrari, which they certainly aren't!

Unfortunately Woody, in red that's what it looks like; a wannabe Ferrari. People not in the know will think that's what it is whereas people in the know, know that it isn't. A shame really but that's how I see it.

If I could find a cheaper Spyder, like sub-£15k (miles on a Maser 4.2 don't worry me as I know how good that engine is), I could be tempted to swap out the 911 for it as it's worth £12k of anyone's dosh.

Had the 911 all weekend, did a good few hundred miles in it... It's a really good little car, but it's not as magical as I first thought, at least not on boring roads which I suppose were all we had. There was one laugh-out-loud moment for us both when I nailed it in second to pass someone and it just LEAPED forward, we'd both forgotten how quick it was when pushed - 300bhp in 1200kg! I think it's auto/TipTronic that kills the fun, we rarely use the potential because of it, just surf about on the torque, but it is lovely in traffic - which is not the point of a 911!

Couldn't agree more with the wannabee-Ferrari comments. It somehow stopped mattering when I saw it on a Spyder though. What would the cognesceti expect such a car to be worth if that is pricey?

As per the thread that rattled a few cages a few weeks ago, it's hard to value a car you've not seen in the flesh, have no idea of the condition or history. However, if it's all bad, about £10k, all good about £15k IMHO!!!

Lets face it Adam, you only like the red because it does make it look like a Ferrari!

good point well made Andy, the 2 famous Maserati race cars, 250f and Tipo Birdcage were both red.

Lewis, what do you think of the Targa roof on the Porker? Do you think it affects the handling over the coupe and/or does it make any noises? Always been curious about them but never driven one..
