First 4200 started with 51k left with 72k after three years - sold far too cheaply three and half years ago when everyone thiught it was too high.

Second 4200 .started with 28k left with 32k just six months later - sold on a whim.

Third, GS started with 43k and not much more yet after six months....

03 4200 with 32k on the clock. Plan to put nearly 4k next year when she goes back to where she was built for a visit.

I bought my 2006 4200 CC in Jan 2011, when she had run only 11,500 km (approx. 7,000 miles). After nearly 4 years as daily she is at 102,000 km or nearly 64,000 miles.

I know this is completely off topic and has nothing to do with mileage, but what colours were available for the leather case on the optional handy fire extinguisher? Were they available in Bordeaux?

Mine's black leather with yellow stitching that matches the interior of my GS - makes me think that they would be matched to the interior colour. Very rare option.

When you're ready to sell, Robin, I'm there!!!! Seriously!

Why? The reason why the mileage is so low is because these early cars are not very satisfying - all wobbly and odd. Nice to look at, nice to sit in, nice badge, etc. But not nice to drive. Having said that, they still appealed enough to me to buy two, one new (in 2002) and one second-hand (in 2008). But if you want a good convertible sports car from Modena from that era, buy a 355 Spider instead. Just not in red.

Useable super cars, you don't see Fezza's and Lambo's with anything like the same miles and can you imagine the running costs if you did ?????? !!!!??

I sold my M5 V10 a year ago and it had 73k on the clock (2008) and the new owner has just clicked 97k miles! That's relatively high too but there are some S85 engines out there with 200k+ miles on them!

The extinguisher + hardware is available from Eurospares, but beige is the only colour available for the leather case. Misprint? It says it for the 3200 AC and the GS. http://www.eurospares.co.uk/searchResult.asp?find=+&S=66306800

dying leather fairly easy to do so you could match your interior from the beige - just search your colour and leather dye on amazon and loads come up. handy option given the lambo post recently:battered:

Hi Felix,
I bought my GS in Melbourne just over a year ago and have enjoyed 20,000 km ( 12,400 miles ) since then. It now reads 111,800 km or approx 69,500 miles. I added up my receipts for the first year at about A$20,000 or a dollar per km, but a lot was me being fussy getting the car up to concours standard. This included re dying the leather, which is easy as Greg says.
