The handbook states.....

On vehicles equipped with electronically suspension, pressing button L ( sport button) will select the sport mode, which sets the suspensions(sic), traction control and cambiocorsa gearbox ( if available) to a racing-type style. Please note that selecting the sport mode strongly decreases driving comfort , especially in city traffic and uneven roadbeds.

Also, when looking at the top of the shocks from the engine compartment, they should be yellow. = skyhook (From Myles at Emblem)

The quote from Parisien relates to a 4200, entirely different to your 3200 as far as gears are concerned. The suspension settings may work the same

Will check my manual for 3200 write-up. Are you auto or manual?
On my maual 3200 sport mode is for dry days, when I am in the groove once car is warmed up. It loosens up the traction control allowing more "slip" and turns on the active damper control. There may be some sharpening of throttle response (more boost? higer redline?) as well. I can say that I do notice the difference and have to be ready, as things start happening really fast. Once you are used to it it is fine, nothing to be scared of.
