Must say I don’t get this making everything louder .... For me the GTS sounds perfect straight out of the box and as a exec car to loud surely spoiled what the car is about.
Agreed but my S is just a little quieter.

If you distil down what the constructive criticism amounts to, I believe you have the essence of a plan.
Go for a GTS. For reasons above. Plus, the Northern Ireland factor. You know how hard it will be in several years
to shift a gas guzzling, Italian super car that everyone's only heard horror stories about. Harder still one that's one of
a vast crowd. Then add in the N.I. factor. I'd say that you can count on the fingers of one hand the people in N.I. likely to
make you an offer. So, how will you generate interest in G.B.? You'll have to pay a G.B. dealer to sell it.
If you're prepared to right off everything you spend on the car. Purchase price and several years parts and servicing.
Then go for it and to **** with received wisdom. Otherwise go forth, armed with received wisdom, have fun and
hopefully be able to sell a rare and possibly sought after car in several years. (GTS)
Apologies if I'm suggesting how you ought to suck your eggs ;)
QPs aren't my thang. Except possibly, the GTS !
Mike :)

That may be true in Texas. And Essex. But not many other places ;)

You think? YouTube is awash with 'ooligans with loud exhausts, many of them aren't from Texas or Texxex but are frequently to be found in West London, Hampshire, and the Gulf States.

Mind you, I went to an open day at a local GT40 specialist in Colchester this weekend and there were some jolly noisy cars there. But none from Texas, strangely.

For me, it's all about the melody rather than the volume, which is why I like Maseratis and Astons very much.

I agree that the Quattroporte Sport-GTS sounds absolutely fantastic in sport mode! I have a 4.7-S and the sound is nice....but nowhere near the GTS growl. I've heard some say that their S has valved exhaust, but I asked for a picture and heard no more about it. The only valved QP mufflers that I'm aware of have the singe large oval exhaust tip, not the twin tipped mufflers on the standard and S cars. I think starting 2014 Maserati offered twin tipped mufflers with valves, but not sure if they could be retrofitted to earlier cars.

Razz installed valved gt boxes on his QP and extended the tips to fit.
