That Porsche was a bit of a mess. The two poor sods wrestling with their umbrella in the wind trying to use the phone by the side of the road looked they'd had better days.

Good to be home at last, 28 hours after leaving the gite.

So, south coast ports next year then..?

Well done chap for perserverance. I was relieved when we chatted at close to midnight that you were going to be on your way.

With you on the change of ports. Pas de Calais never a preferred invasion route. Can only see that getting more frenetic as time passes. Portsmouth - Caen, likelihood of getting any sleep and not draining the ferry of some obsure vodka based aperitif?

We could all stay in the Chichester area the night before. Anybody local who could put us up?

There was a BMW 3 series in the scenery just north of Rouen as well. No police or driver around and the rear number plate was missing which seemed a bit odd.
