I have a Quattroporte 3L diesel from 2015 and would like to know how to change the service intervals via the dashboard. The dealer sold it to me serviced but didn't update the onboard computer.

Thanks any assistance. cheers

Welcome.

Someone may know better but I very much doubt that you can do it without a scan tool. Certainly it would be unusual for fairly obvious reasons.

Welcome indeed.

You can reset the service light on some more mainstream cars using just the dash buttons, but I’ve not heard of anyone managing this with a Maser. It might sound stupid, but you could see if there is a procedure for a Chrysler and try that.

The only way it can be done without a scan tool that i am aware of is by changing the date back by a year. It does mean it will show the incorrect day unless you take it back far enough that the year starts and ends on the same day which would be 2010.

Your local garage may be able to do it for a nominal fee if they have launch diagnostic or similar scan tool.

Other than that its either get the garage that sold you the vehicle to arrange to have the service light reset or put up with the light until the next service is due.

Where abouts are you based ? There may be member near you with a reset tool.

Welcome to the group

Can't you take it back to the dealer who sold it to you and get them to do it, if they have done the service they should have reset service interval

Thanks for the replies , all duly noted. I'm in Hythe, Kent , UK. The dealership i purchased from is some 2 hours away but they have offered to assist if necessary , otherwise i'll just put up with the little spanner.

cheers

Welcome to the forum imon, Hope you enjoy your QP, there's a few fellow members near you in Kent. As for your spanner dilemma, unless there's a semi-secret way of cancelling it buried deep in the bowles of the owners' manual then I' afraid it's a dealer job. Which is typically Maserati.

Welcome!

I would say it's the dealers responsibility to sort it for you.
As you are in Kent, I'd give AV Engineering a call, they might be happy to just reset the light for you, you could check with the dealer that they're happy to pay for any cost involved.

If you didn't get your car inspected by someone knowledgeable prior to purchase, I'd also get that done before any kind of warranty expires, as there maybe some headaches lurking.
Honest mistakes do happen, but if the dealer managed to let it leave the forecourt with lights on the dash, I wouldn't be 100% confident in the quality of their servicing and pre sale inspection.

I'm in Hythe as well! Voicey at AV Engineering is your man. He's in Challock just outside Ashford.
Get some pics up of your QP, I've only seen a silver QP6 is it yours?

Although I have noticed a few Ghibli's, a Levante, a black GTS and a Med Blue 4200 in Hythe of late.

I was under the impression there had to be a manual way built in via buttons etc. But usually very convoluted and not advertised.

Used to be the case for cars in the US don’t know if it’s still true. But on E39 BMWs for example although it worked on US spec cars you couldn’t reset the light or interrogate error codes on Euro cars.

My Merc you can do it from the dash though

Hi , thanks for all the advice , spoke to AV engineering today and they will get rid of my little ''spanner'' in about 5 mins with a plug n play thingy.........i'll be dropping in there within next week/s........perfect .

Next bit of fun i'm sure will be the expense of the service .......i'm at just under 40k miles so i'm hoping most of the issues have been seen and dealt with but we'll see........big boys toys and all that ! Had a 612 previously which was a cash burner, banking on this car being less so ...........pigs do fly right

Try Kent High Performance- they sell a lot of Masers ….if you have the book stamped - getting the service market changed should be easy

Try Voicey again or trundle along the south coast to SportsItalia for servicing.

Should cost only 8/12 of the 612. :)

Thought AV would sort it for you, so that's good.

I'm confused though, I thought you said it'd just been serviced prior to sale ? So why are you concerned about the cost of a service? Or are you just thinking about the next one?
