Thought I'd join up and say hello.

I've been on Pistonheads for years and also Maserati Forum however Maserati Forum seems to be fading away.

Been an owner for 7 years, firstly a 3200GT and for the last year a GranSport LE.

cheers
David

Hi there David , unfortunately MF is fading away quite rapidly , mainly because the large majority are now here , its a lot more user friendly and has everything that MF had and a whole lot more , your input on 3200's would be well recieved as good in depth knowledge is becoming more scarce as they get older , how you finding the GS , different animal entirely im sure you would agree , anyway look forward to hearing from you in the future , and few pics of the beast would go down well

warm regards loz

Hi David and welcome.

Without going into too much detail, the previous and not the current owner Birdcage is responsible for the death of MF and the birth of SM.

Jaffa, the current custodian of MF and I regularly speak and there is no bad blood between us.

You being an owner for many years, are very much welcomed on here.

The best part of this forum other than a fierce admiration for the marque and the comoradary, are the forum meets and trips.

Track days, foreign trips, local meets, they are all very beneficial and give SportsMaserati that family feel. The xmas do and Le Mans are my favourites.

Hope to see you there soon.

GS is a 2006 Grigio Palladio, sandy coloured interior (like the current Cuoio), ball Polished alloys, yellow calipers and with all the LE stuff inside.

3200GT was Grigio Touring with Blue leather.

I miss the rear lights, bonnet vents and centre console storage unit, but that's about it - GS is a much better drive all round for me.

I did have a Quicksilver exhaust system on the 3200GT, so am looking into sports sections on the GS.

Very nice mate.

Larini is the way to go most on here will agree.

Start with the valves back boxes and the mid H box and go from there.

Keep your old exhaust as when you sell, you will be able to sell on the Larinis and get 75% of your money back.....there is always a high demand.

I am VAT registered and claimed the VAT back and thus got all my money back.

Win, win.

Welcome to the forum David and thanks for the very nice photographs.

It is a shame about MF as it's where many members here used to spend their time, but there just doesn't seem to be the activity there to drive it forward any more.

I hope you'll find Sports Maserati a much more active forum; lots of chat and banter, but always with the hope to help and inform when needed.

Yep, the tyres were on when I bought it, they were new so still got some life in them.

The photo was taken after a full day's driving - Edinburgh to Elvington (York) and back for a Maserati test track day. Just happened to stop on the A68 on the way home and the light was right for the photo. I admit to photoshopping the flies off the nose and darkening the clouds - but the rest is as it was.
