Ring Marios at Autoshield and he'll sort it for you seen as you're up here. Enjoy the beauty.

Welcome JJJ, GS, great choice!

As for mods, the ones people tend to go with are the exhaust, Larinis mainly. Start with the back boxes and mid pipe, then add the cats if you want more noise.

On the engine side, you can have them mapped to about 440bhp or you can get the bolt on Formula Dynamics piggyback ECU and DBW system, contact Performance Italia for a quote.

Other mods are usually brakes, better pads, and some have done suspension too, dropping the ride height and fitting new FD springs and spacers.

Hi JJJ

Gransport, great choice but then i am biased.
Where abouts are you in the North West, i'm in sunny Southport.
Defo recommend Mario at Autoshield to look after your baby. He sure knows his Masers.
See you about

Welcome to the forum jjj and congratulations on your GS. I'll look forward to photographs. :D

With regards to mods, as Matt has already mentioned, Larini and Formula Dynamics (through Performance italia) are the usual ports of call. Depends what you want really as, at 400 horses stock, there's plenty there already. Brakes and suspension will allow you to make better use of it, particularly on the twisty stuff.

Cheers, Em.

welcome jjj

I am a few months ahead of you with the GS acquisition. I have started with the brakes moving to Maranello 550 discs and different pass - check out the sticky thread on parts. unbelievably useful. will follow with the DBW module and leave it at that to start.

you are certainly in the right place. the advice on this forum is second to none and the members very quick to feedback.

enjoy your new lady.

Damon

enjoy your GS

Pretty local then ! I've had my GS for nearly 2 years and its the best car i have owned by far. Nothing can beat the sense of occasion on every trip. Kids give you the thumbs up, drivers let out of junctions, the whole world seems to love the Maser!

The engine and running gear is robost, but usual Italian electrical niggles can be a slight annoyance.

Top tip:- I am sure you will have noticed the battery isolator knob next to the battery. In the event of check warning Engine light or other warning light (excluding abs and airbag) , you can reset the warning light by isolating the battery by turning the knob clockwise one click, leave for 10 mins, then turn clockwise one more click. The light should have reset.

Ensure that you OPEN BOOT, LEAVE BOOT OPEN, AND DROP WINDOW a couple of inches before you isolate the battery.

You right Frank I forgot the official Sports Maserati position on this subject:
"All Maseratis are unreliable rust buckets. They are as common as muck and not worthy of any further consideration. Move on now nothing more to see"
