just watched the speech and you can tell that came from the heart, he will be a great King and do his mother proud as will Willam in succession, long live the King

She had a wicked sense of humour, that alone made me feel like she was one of us.

I hear she knew the direction of travel a few months ago, and continued to show an astonishing dedication to duty and country literally up to hours before she died. An example of leadership and dedication that should make the most sceptical individual take a deep breath. Outstanding woman and an example to us all.

Phillip came to me today,

and said it was time to go.

I looked at him and smiled,

as i whispered that "I know"



I then turned and looked behind me,

and seen I was asleep.

All my Family were around me,

and I could hear them weep.



I gently touched each shoulder,

with Phillip by my side.

Then I turned away and walked,

with My Angel guide.



Phillip held my hand,

as he lead the way,

to a world where King's and Queens,

are Monarch's every day.



I was given a crown to wear

or a Halo known by some.

The difference is up here,

they are worn by everyone.



I felt a sense of peace,

my reign had seen its end.

70 years I had served my Country,

as the peoples friend.



Thank you for the years,

for all your time and love.

Now I am one of two again,

in our Palace up above.

Agreed, there was a lot of consternation about Prince Charles, mainly by the usual suspects of the British press, but King Charles has my respect and admiration. I'm no royalist but I'd rather have our idiosyncratic unwritten constitution than a power/money hungry kleptocrat. He understands the weight of the position and he's there to serve, he reigns but not rules.

I can't believe how much disgusting bile is circulating around regarding Her Majesty's passing along with the UK in general, perhaps the UK needs to take a firm stance on certain things these days.

I don't do a great deal of Social media stuff, but haven't seen any myself. Where are you seeing this? (not that I want to see it)

There are a lot of small people in this world, and apparently many of them have access to the interwebs. F em all, right in the ear. Even if/where there many be legitimate gripes/concerns/issues (and as someone who was never one of Her Majesty's subjects, I have zero opinions on this, so please do NOT read this as a criticism of the royal family in general or any member individually) there are clearly inappropriate times and places. In general, my read is that these trolls are trying to make some other event about themselves, rather than the matter at hand. And while I am a huge proponent of free speech, I am also a huge proponent of ignoring people who say dumb or repugnant things.

Charles will follow in his mum’s footsteps and so will his eldest son and Kate when the time comes. Decent people.
