I was there a couple of months ago
The food is wonderful
A great market
Pigs trotters too
The ham hocks are excellent too. I lived across the street for a few years,
off South Mall and this was my nearest 'supermarket'. The food is amongst
the cheapest in the town. But fresher than anywhere and mostly local.
The Café upstairs buys its produce from the stall holders downstairs
and when I first moved to Cork. I used to sit upstairs overlooking the
stalls below and just people watch over brunch or coffee / tea and a
dessert. You could people watch, while the butcher below, butchered a
complete cow. Theatre with food
I hope you really enjoyed yourself there Dave.
Apologies! Not thread drift. No more posts from me about Cork.
Except to say, Her Majesty had a fabulous time there and I will forever
love the people of Cork, for giving my Sovereign such a welcome.
If anyone else is visiting Cork and wants some travel tips. Don't hesitate.
