Help please! - I think that the engine immobiliser is stopping my car from starting?

The short story;
It seems that the engine immobiliser is stopping my car from starting? I've tried the restart procedure (page 148 of the manual) but no luck. Any ideas of how to turn this immobiliser off?
The Long Story;
So I have been fitting a rear view camera onto my 2004 4200. Everything went fine. I then found that during fitting my battery had gone flat. I charged it and tried to restart the car. The cars lights on the dash went on (see attached pic) and it sounds like it has no petrol. It does have petrol.
The lights indicate that the immobiliser is stopping the engine restart. The hand book states that this may occur if you try to restart the car with the battery charger connected. Unfortunately I did do this! The restart procedure (page 148 of the manual) says that if the CODE warning light is on permanently and the EOBD light is on but switches off for 4 seconds then turns on again it is the deactivation of the engine immobilizer. However, my EOBD light stays on permanently.
My OBD2 reader states there are no problems with the car. I'm guessing it's not the rear view camera causing the problems as it was connected to the reversing light so should have not had a major impact on the ECU. It was probably the restarting with the battery charger that has immobilised the engine?
Any ideas of how to restart her? Turn off the engine Immobiliser (without spending £1000 at a Maserati authorised dealer!)?

It’s Italian so I may as well suggest a battery reset before someone else does.
Good luck

If the battery is now fully charged and it doesnt clear with a battery reset or using the 2nd key then if you have the keycard in your documents pack there is a code to use to bypass the immobiliser.

Instructions in the manual from memory which involves key turns and pressing the gas peddle for each number to enter IIRC.

Once it has started you may have to repeat again after a restart. A battery reset should clear it after that.

Here you go. You need the grey keycard with 2 codes on it. Its the 5 digit electronic code you need from it.

I've tried that- the problem is that it does not do what it says in the manual .i.e. the light does not flash for 4 seconds, it just stays on! Nothing happens!! Guess it's off to Maserati again! Should have bought an Aston! : (

I assume you’ve tried a battery disconnect for 10 mins?? Make sure the battery terminals are secure as bad or no earth causes similar no start symptoms.

Is it actually trying to start but not starting ?

Ive just read your original post again where you say it sounds like it isnt getting petrol. Check the fuel cut off button has not triggered. Its in the boot behind the left hand panel where the cd changer would be fitted but more towards the front of the car. Its a black plunger type button with a rubber top that pushes in to reset.

Problem Solved! Unfortunately none of the above worked so I decided to 'bite the bullet' and check every fuse in the car! It turns out that the 'under the dash board' fuse box contained a 10amp red fuse number 34 that controlled the '+15 electronic injection' which had blown. Replaced the fuse and the car started immediately!
Thanks to everyone who has come up with possible solutions -it is really appreciated.
