That reminds me. When I took my car to Mike R he said that when he went to change the brake pads for the improved EBC RedStuff he saw that much corrosion around the calipers of a white compound that he had to get a dentist size drill out to hack way at it. It took him a fair amount of time to clear it all up and get it sorted! Again just been sat with no use. Also he replaced vacuum hoses which had perished.

Here is a graph to show what it is running since getting fettled with a contactless TB and removing the centre cats.

458.8 out of my old girl when she was approaching 100 k and I'm sure Benny's Spyder got a little more without those whooshing gizmos too.

That was in a another life Mike....That 1988 Group A Maserati Biturbo was difficult, won one 250K race in the wet at Jarama Spain, but it was no match for the Ford Sierra Cosworth's and the like!

Dave

Another life maybe, but one that should not be forgotten but shared for the enjoyment of others!

Hello Everyone,
Sorry I haven't been on for a while but work has been very busy! I am still yet to see the 3200 in question but have got a guy who will inspect it, Mike from the Maserati Shed. There is another car on my radar, its a 4200 Manual. It is up at 13K from a company called George Kingsley in Essex. Anyone know anything about the car??

Thanks again guys, I must say a manual 3200 with 400brake and similar torque sounds amazing, terrifying, but amazing!

Mike is the man to see, he will inspect it for you and make sure it is a good one. The 4200 looks nice and has decent mileage on it. Go for a test drive to see which one suits you.

It seems like the 4200 are on the low side whereas the 3200's with low miles are beginning to turn around.

Pistonheads shows about 14K the average for a sub 50k miler.

To be fair not alot does at the moment. Look at GT prices..... Also most second hand performance saloons are suffering too. My M5 has been for sale for 5 months now!

The 4200 is probably the car I am going towards and I love a manual box. It has been looked after by Giallo and the clutch is fresh. Going to see it Sunday, it is an incredible price. I don't understand how a car like this can be so inexpensive to buy, what else can you get for £12,000 with a derivative of a Ferrari engine.

I am sure at this price there will be bills to come but I am a car enthusiast and it is a great way of getting into a 'Modern' Maserati. I really didn't think I would be able to get into a 4200. If it is a good car I will be doing lots to it over the next year also... but probably best not to get ahead of myself!

Do it but the F1 box is more fun. 4200 is the only true supercar for Mondeo money. Wouldn't be with out mine just done a 140 mile trip in atrocious conditions but what a journey.
