Hi,

Thought I'd join up to say hello, always had a hankering for a bit of Maserati Spirit in my life, already a member of some other Maserati Forums but never knew about this one until recently so thought I'd join up.

Currently have a Alfa Romeo 147 GTA in Bianco Nuvola (Pearlescent White) with a few choice mods, Supersprint Exhaust, Eibach suspension upgrades, etc. but after a couple of years of ownership finding that it just isn't fast enough or comfortable enough for me anymore.

I also have a E92 MSport Coupe which gets driven most days because it does 600 miles to a tank and is in real world terms as quick as the GTA point to point even though it only has a 2.0 turbodiseasel engine.

I've always been put off by frightening tales of high running costs but then the GTA has cost me £10K over 2 years to run in major breakdowns, some mods and averaging 15mpg so I suppose I'd be daft to cite that as a reason not to get one.

Cheers

Sean

Hey, indeed I am the GD from AlfaOwner and I'd probably be looking at anything from 3200 to GranSport, depends on the car really, I've never actually driven one but when I was last looking for a car and bought the GTA I had a look at a few Maserati's and very nearly got to the point of going on test drives with a view to buy.

The only thing I think that would stop me buying one would be an opportunity to buy a Aston V8 Vantage for a price I can reconcile with myself.

:)

Hi Sean and a warm welcome to the forum.

You'll be pleased to know that the old adage applies perfectly here in that you don't have to be mad (to enjoy the forum), but it (certainly) helps! ;) There's plenty of advice to be had, all you need to do is ask, and for when you just want to while away an hour or two, there's always plenty of chat on the go.

Hope you'll stick around and contribute to the common good and have some fun along the way.

Cheers, Miles.

Hi Sean, glad we got over the registration issues. Well, Alfa to Maserati, you arnt the first, and you wont be the last. I have had both 3200 and GS. The 3200 does cost more to run but is a great car, but for me the GS is a cut above. If I were going 3200 again, I would go for a descent 3200 Assetto Corse auto. The 4200 and GS are very sorted, the GS even more so.

Enjoy your stay here, its a very relaxed site.

oh, and welcome.

Agree with Matt..If you go 3200 it has to be Assetto Corsa, but they are like rocking horse so it could take a wjile to find one...

Well, I assume it was you over on AO in the GTA Replacing thread that dropped a link to here so I thought I'd come and take a look.

If not we have a an irritating troll who is using photos of your car on the thread. :(

Adam, you can buy it off me when I next swap cars if you want :D
