Hi , just introducing myself from Down under. I have been following the Forum for a while and took the plunge and purchased a 2006 GS LE that is on its way to OZ. Yes another! Found a heap of information and assistance from the forum that has been invaluable in making my choice. Thanks to you all.

I didn't actually have it for sale but I am tending to supply more cars than those that I actually have for sale. It was advertised on Autotrader, I had it inspected, rectified and prepped to send to Aus to Robert.

The car has finally arrived. Cleared Customs but still subject to Quarintine! Needs to be steam cleaned! Just an Aussie thing. Big stickers on front windscreen that it is subject to AIQS penalities! Should clear Tuesday and I can then have a good look.

Excellent news, can I see some pics of her in her new home?

I certainly will do that. It will be a couple of weeks as it has to go through the Compliance work, then Vic State Road Worthy and Rego! Yes it keeps the un employment down with all the Bureaucrats etc

At this rate We run the risk of having our cars become a more common sight than a Holden Commodore! as it is in the 4 building commercial office block where I work there is a black Granturismo, two Gransports and my 3200!

Congratulations Robert. I am an expat Aussie having moved to the UK a few months ago. If Maseratis are considered rare in the UK, they they are positively non existent in Oz. Look forward to some pics when you have it cleared and in your driveway. if you are willing, I would also be interested in a rough cost breakdown on what all the import rigmarole cost.

Cheers

Its GBP purchase price converted to AUD plus AUD25,000 made up of GST, Shipping Compliance Registration and Stamp duty. The variances might be 2/3000 across these numbers but you wont be far off if you apply that rule of thumb. PM me if you want the detail.
