I watched it. He likes it but isnt overly keen, similar to the coupe. Mind, the list price of that one was over 300k!

Yes, this one comes in at £305k after options. He loves the look of it and seems to like the GT setting but points out that you couldn’t really use the car in that capacity due to lack of storage. I guess you’d get some football kit in it though, so it’ll probably suit some of the Brand Ambassador’s comrades(?).

Every time I watch an MC20 I dream of the Nettuno engine being transplanted into an Alfa GTAM. Feisty one you are etc.

Saw one in the flesh with the owner depositing a couple of shopping bags from a designer shop in the frunk. That's all he had room for!

I guarded one on Friday's NEC classic car show - white matt/satin paint - looked lovely - but so many admirers thought it was a wrap! And it had a similar price tag. I did highlight the limited luggage space as one reason not to buy one

Lovely car particularly in this colour. Carbon extravaganza unnecessary given overall weight (whispering- almost quattroporte levels!). Regular bumper would do just fine, thank you.

£300k plus... thats a lot of money.

You could have the best 32, 42, and GS MC victory as well as the last of the GT and GC and still have change to run them for a few decades.
The folk buying them new will likely have about £1m or more of other exotica too. Nobody who has £300k is spending it on a Cielo, it’s someone who’s got £5m and they fancy one.

This is the one from the NEC.

A lot of people thought it was the car of the show. Which was odd considering it was a classic car show. If you can afford it the limited luggage space doesn't matter, likewise the price. It good that Maserati can sell them. They must be doing something right.

I spoke to a chap at the NEC who said that he'd never been bothered by Maserati before. Didn't like them in fact until he saw the Cielo. He had sold some land and wanted to know the lead time on the cars as he was planning on ordering one. He'd be coming from Porsche, so not £1m cars.

Yes, I’m sure they know the potential size of the market for these and have guesstimated how many they’re likely to sell globally … It’s not like they’re making a car for the masses; it’s exclusive but not like a Bugatti or a Pagani. I think they have a pretty clear idea of customer profile which is reflected in them having David Beckham market the brand. And I also wonder to what extent they’re interested in / trying to differentiate from the competition- Ferrari, Lamborghini etc. at this price point(?).
