GT Front Number Plate

I have had the same problem but after damaging the bumper on route to Bologna last year I had it repaired and did away with the front plate altogether. I do keep a legal sized plate in the boot with 3m tape attached, hoping that the "it just fell off officer" excuse might hold up.
It's been 7months now without any Police attention

Turn it face down on the road and drag it with your foot adds to the authenticity :)

It's the age old problem with the GT, I lost one on my GTS reversing onto a driveway and the Stradale one is even lower. Mine is connected with the ugly mounting bracket so the bumper has been drilled in three places to do this. And with the heat of the summer, the number plate has started to warp and twist so it looks even uglier now! I may remove the bracket, have the hole fixed in the front section of the bumper and move the plate back where it is screwed directly onto the bumper but it looks pretty bad too - what to do ...

little tip: rather than use the official double sided number plate sticky tape (which I have always found to be **** and unable to cope with anything but a perfectly flat surface) use dressmakers adhesive velcro (two part tape)

It seems to cope much better with heat and water, plus the extra "depth" means that curved surfaces can be accommodated without fuss.

This one looks quite good:

...and on the Strad type bumper, you can see its not quite long enough runners and the plate appears tilted but neat though:

Leave it up around town, down for motorways.

Is it ok in the UK to be offset to the r/h/s do you know?

... like this, it looks like a decent solution but I don't know if it would be legal here - I thought offset number plates had to be on the near side but I might be wrong

For anyone who might be interested, I have spoken to the DVLA about this position for a front license plate and there is no problem as to it's legality so it could be an alternative solution

Just looks ****. Keep them off guys. Mine is the loudest most offensive Maser out there and it has not been stopped in 18 months without a plate! I'll happily pay the £100 again and again to maintain the look too.

I think the plod in Ashford have nothing better to do.
Took my plate off this morning as my new ones were coming today and I'm deciding what route to go down to display it, or not.
Coming out of work and a plod car pulls in front of me and asks where my plate is FFS!

Either way I think my card is marked, so I've got to put one on.

The electric retractable looks good. I'd be concerned about the reduced ground clearance - could easily see it being ripped off when it's hidden underneath, especially on the even-lower Strads and GTSs with the MC suspension.

Who's going first?

As I mentioned, I bought this and it could not be fitted to the Stradale because of the curvature of the underside of the bumper. May well fit other models though.
