Been holding off fitting upgraded brake hoses for some time as never liked the banjo arrangement on the fronts, finally found an OE spec like for like Goodridge equivalent with SS fittings.

Speaking to them, they were in the same mind as me with regards to the banjo arrangement so got a set of genuine hoses and done a like for like and a lot cheaper than FDs brake hoses.ZZAA0180-186.JPG

I felt exactly the same way and have the same hoses as you on mine, albeit with the "carbon" finish.

I had a hard time with the unions and had to replace one of the hard pipes as it had seized on the plastic coating and twisted when removed.

i fitted Goodridge hoses to my car about 3 years ago and they are still perfect, very well made and i think the brakes felt better too.

Try heat on the hard line first if the fitting doesn't spin on the front hard brake line.

If you have ones that seizes on the front hard brake line where heat will not work....... Remove it closest to the caliper first, then spin the entire rubber line instead of the fitting on the hard line. You will need to cut the tension clip for that hard line first so that you can pull it down to spin it, as there are grooves in the rubber line that fit into the hanger to keep it from spinning. Once off work the nut with heat and penetration fluid again to get it un-seized.

Me too, wasn't sure about the banjo fittings and we did need to ensure the caliper face was perfect and they have been really good. One of the first things I do on any car i own is get rid of rubber flexible hoses and replace them with braided ones always improves the brake feel

Had them on mine, bought them from an Ebay trader and they really made the pedal firmer which is the way I like it to be as you have much better control of braking. Damo had them on his GS too and commented the same. For me it is an essential mod to the Coupe range.

My pedal is squishy, probably due to old fluid and as I have to replace the fluid and bleed all 4 wheels I might as well change the pipes which are probably not in great shape anyway after 15 years and large periods of garage parking.
