Well Froddy I have a 159, and great car though it is, it could be free and I'd still rather drive a GS!!

Good luck with the sale, I wouldn't be in a rush to accept offers, I think your price sounds pretty fair.

Being an ex-FiatAlfa owner (They're not real Alfa's!) The 2.4 is not that economical. The 1.9 (and now 2.0) D**sel engine is better. I've not driven one but the reports are that the 1750tb engine is powerful and economical ...and it runs on proper fuel. My diesel GT could do 45mpg on a run but I couldn't get used to the sound on start up. I use my 4200 half as much so it's just as economical ....

Lots of cars over the decades aint been real, pure versions of their marques.....Alfas are not unique!

Always wear ear defenders on starting up.....ANY desiel.....:)

Love the 4200 usage logic......brilliant!

Chaps,

Have just returned from the Alfa dealer and, I have to say, I was very impressed with the TI spec car's finish and handling - what a beauty. The 2.4 engine is markedly more powerful than the 1.9, but it really sounds more like a diesel on startup. Decisions, decisions ...

And so it was, having resolved that I would withdraw from the sale of my GS if I could not face a new life of saloondom, that I explained to the salesman that I was having a personal crisis and needed to retire to my cave to scratch my head by the fire. My bloodshot eyes were bulging with the weight of the decision.

Just then, my mobile phone rang; it was my prospective purchaser phoning to withdraw from the GS sale, with profuse apologies. Profuse apologies?! I'm ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED! I kissed the steering wheel when I returned to my darling, and then thrashed her all the way home.

The GS is coming off the market immediately - I can't face life without her ....

Froddy from the gist it seems you might have been considering a new 159???? As an economic measure?????

The GS will be a far cheaper proposition over the next twelve months than a new 159 - My 3200 was cheaper over 18 months than my new Fiat 500 was over 3!!! Depreciation, it's a mug's game!

A great point.........barring any failures, which even now can be sorted for less than half the price even 3 yrs ago........fingers crossed and enjoy!

Her job sounds extremely rewarding..........not only has she landed you.........aaahheeemmm.....but lands big fish too......hhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....:)

That's the problem with Masers - they get under your skin.

Once sold they are hard to replace - I still regret selling my 3200GT and that was seven years ago!
