GS boot not opening

Boot will not open . Tried following:-
1 . Will not open with key. 2. Will not open with button in glove box 3. Checked fuse in boot- ok 4. Fuel flap opens wth button in glove box. 5. Hear a clicking using using key ,but nothing.
I can get into boot manually using key into boot lock.
Any suggestions please?

There is a guide here. It usually just need a spot of lubrication and adjust the cable to fix.

Sounds like the boot lock itself. Take the trim off that covers it on the boot lip, check the connections and adjust the lock and clean it up. Sometimes they just start working again for no reason.

Check the wiring harness that goes from the body to the boot lid. After many years of flexing the wires can wear and snap.

The cables between the car body and the boot lid tend to break in the flexible conduit due to the flexing. I'd not be surprised if this was your issue as the solenoid that unlocks the boot is in the lid.

that should help you get in and check if the solenoid is getting power.

No probs, glad to help.

I had a similar issue on another car where the electric window didn't work. Went replacing parts and not check the simple stuff first.

Turned out to be the same issue where a wire had snapped in the body to door flex wiring pipe.

It's human nature to assume it's a hardware fault.
