Hi a quick up date on GS Down Under. compliance plate issued now need a Roadworthy Cert. The Air Conditioner had to be regassed as it had to be removed for importing. the Air Con Mechanic said that after regassing that the switch is "stuck " on Demist. Any suggestions /advice? How do the "flaps" change? Are they mechanical or motor driven?
Thanks

There are, apparently, two electronic actuators that control the air flow; one controls the mixer flap for air (hot through to full cold) and the other operates the distribution flap. You may well see the letter E on the LCD between the clocks where the outside air temp reading is. Spares are readily available from Eurospares but are a pain in the 4ss to fit as the dash top has to come out. I know because the temp actuator is bolloxed on mine and I am going to change it next week. Have fun!

Disconnect the battery for 15 mins (Switch above the battery) then turn it back on again.

If that does not work there is a reset proceedure for the aircon, do a search for it.

Thanks Matt. Robert, it's under 3200 Air Con reset. I'll try that tomorrow. Thanks.

Good gen. After doing the above procedure mine seems to be working properly again although it was difficult to tell if the air con was working as the ambient air was only 4 degrees! However, I am hopeful as all the rotary kn0bs are now working as they should.

All was fine with the AC before it was degassed so hope it's a simple fix.

Hi, thanks. I am sure it should be a simple fix.The battery was flat when it arrived. Seats mirrors etc all need to be reset. Still have not driven the car. I will send you note in due course. I am very pleased with the car. It was as described, and in excellent condition.

You might find the wiring loom is still in there. Good luck.
