Granturismo wheel alignment

Hi All, after having to replace my front tyres due to the inner tyre wear (must have been 5mm left on the tread) I've decided to get four wheel laser alignment done. The question is will the manufacturers set up then still cause the inner fronts to wear excessively and if so is there a way round this?

I don’t particularly like the nervousness and constant steering wheel adjustment that the factory alignment makes it do.
I asked AV for less toe in.. has made a huge difference to high speed stability.

Yep they are set up that way. You need to zero the camber I believe.

Reduce the OEM front toe to 0.5 and make sure your upper wishbone bushes are not slack.

I suspect the bushes are gone.

Also bin the Pirelli’s and put Michelin 4S on.

The results will be dramatic.

yes I put PS4's on replacing P Zeros, felt much better which I put down to new tyres, so basically I can instruct the alignment techs to adjust to 0.5 front toe and job done, excellent news and thanks for the advice,
PS are front bushes expensive? Do you need to replace the entire set and both sides I presume?

I’m not the one that does the alignment, I do know to reduce the front toe so:

if stock is neg value reduce it to -0.5
If stock is pos value reduce it to 0.5

…if you get me, I don’t know if the stock is pos or neg toe so it’s one of the above to text 0.5 the same side (pos or neg)

OEM spec on the front is a -ve negative toe (Toe out). This makes the car very fast to turn in (to try and hide its weight) but downside is it gets twitchy at high speed, tramlines quite bad and also wears out the inside of your front tyres.

I had mine adjusted to a slightly Positive Toe (toe in) of about +0.25 as recommended by some people in the know. The stock Camber on the front is only about -0.3deg so not a real issue there.
It makes a massive difference to how the car feels. Much more stable in a straight line, less understeer on fast bends, and less tyre wear.
The compromise is that it's slower to turn in initially, but then really bites mid corner. I really like it that way.

The OEM rear specs are usually fine.

Absolutely agree with this adjustment. The OEM is just wrong, for a car of this weight. It isn’t a throw around the twisties kind of car. My 360 does that absolutely brilliantly, but the GT not so. It wasn’t designed for that. With a weight of 1800 kilos it doesn’t adjust itself well on the twisties, if that is what you are after, get a Ferrari.

The other problem I’ve faced is my local four wheel alignment centre in Swindon doesn’t have Maserati on its data base, with out that they claim they will struggle is set the car up, is this an excuse or a real issue. I need to have this done but don’t fancy a long trip. Having said that it would be nice for Emblem to do the alignment as any other bush issues etc would be spotted…..,
