Granturismo spare key fob battery dead, replaced but now won't open car remotely?

Did anyone ever get to the bottom of this? I have the same symptoms with my spare key.

None of the buttons work, replaced the button battery, tried the sync procedure, nothing - but it still starts the car and opens the physical lock.

Any ideas?

Start and physical opening are totally different and require no battery power.

Test the battery you put in with a meter?

Swapped the known working battery, same.

The car actually beeps when you put the battery into the key, in a kind of acknowledgy way.

I was under the impression the key has to ‘transmit’ to the immobiliser to start the car? That could’ve been a dream though.

I’m starting to think there could be a physical issue inside the fob. The car definitely seems to ‘know’ the key.

The key doesn't transmit. They have an induction coil around the ignition that reads the transducer inside the key. If it is a key issue message Nick at the remotefobcentre on ebay. Very good and can test, repair and will likely have a new pcb if needed.

As the man said^^

However it's not a start issue as far as I can tell. Next guess would be the battery terminals, or microswitches are broke.
