GranTurismo Auto Levelling Headlights (possible issue)

Hi Guys

I am here for some advice.

After going for a late night spin on Saturday I noticed, I was getting flashed a lot by angry drivers, although I didn't have main beam on. I have been out driving in the late hours before and never previously had an issue. It was every other driver at least, some even gave me the horn!

I did my usual Google search and found a guy who thought he had a similar issue, to which he made a video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Tqy4vY7nd8&feature=youtu.be

He seems to worry that the auto-levelling sequence isn't ending in the right order....

It is the same sequence as mine.

I thought I would try here before ringing the dealer..

Thanks in advance for any advice/help you may be able to offer.

Sorry, not aware of this - park the car in a garage/opposite a wall at night and test it? If it is not working properly then it is clearly a main dealer issue.

Update

Took the car back to the main dealer, who realigned the lights (they were out by "a lot"), took about 10 mins.

I seem to remember there is a level sensor on one of the rear wishbones which measures the pitch of car and adjusts the headlights accordingly. Apparantly this sensor can get clogged up with cr@ap pretty quickly. Did they check this as well?

Thanks for posting this. Mine has the same issue I believe so it'll be off back to the garage for the second time in as many weeks.

My 2002 Spyder has the same fault its a broken level sensor on the front wishbone.

I had this as well. In my case the tie rod between the front wishbone and the the sensor was snapped (still can't figure out how that happens given the weakness of the things to which the tie rod is connected). Took me a little while with a dremel to get the old one off. Fitting the new one was the reverse of dis-assembly, sans dremel :)

All was good.

mine was seized, snapped and the mounting bracket was rusted and snapped. I now have to remove the front strut to drill our the subframe, new sensor, tie rod, bracket and all the screws and plates, all in, £100
