I don't see what you are talking about, but it makes sense that it would look identical but without a resonator....probably not the most efficient design, but certainly cheaper for manufacturer.
My car was a leased and bone stock example, except that previous owner did a hack job trying to get an IPOD connection to the factory radio using off the shelf wiring, so something tells me that they didn't have such "vision" to remove the resonator on the centre section before doing something to the mufflers or CATs first. Honestly, it's not a natural starting point for someone looking to upgrade their exhaust.
Also, I am sure that the guys in the US, including Jeff, can tell between a straight pipe and a resonator...keep checking the US thread I posted on MaseratiLife to see the feedback to my post. Some already described it in words before I posted.
If you can prove otherwise, please let me know because it will have an impact on my decision on what to do next.
