Just got a quote from the Supersprint guys in Australia regarding price for sports cats.... approx $3k delivered. Much cheaper than Larini.

To give you some comparison, I have 200 cpi Magnaflow stainless cats and they were AUD$1000 installed with a stainless balance pipe.

Saving the $2k sounds pretty good to me!!

How does the 3200 cat setup differ from the 4200?

Cheers,
Luke

Design of the Larini & Supersprint decats is what sets them apart. They achieve better ground clearance than some of the other brands

You're spot on Adam.

In my case the local exhaust specialist was able to modify the Magnaflow cat to achieve OEM clearance. I'm just throwing up other options that Luke can explore which might provide a similar result for less expense. My criteria for the cats was low cost and maximum performance which I achieved, albeit with a little messing around over the ground clearance issue. If I was buying a set of rear boxes then sound and visual aesthetics would be my key criteria and I would definitely look at Larini or Tubi.

Boomerang
Just added Larini sports decats, OEM xpipe & back boxes
Marginal if any external noise level increase
Almost eliminated droning @80km/2000rpm, much quiter inside in either mode
Increase in bhp esp 1&2 gear

Cannot see why u need silencers

UPDATE

Next part of jigsaw

Removed center piece OEM resonator (xpipe) and replaced with Larini Xpipe
Feel again freer engine rev flow, mild increase in noise level, weight saving of 25lb,
No appreciable interior noise increase

Good result, next verify hp+ with a dyno power run
Will try to post noise clip in due course

Have you made any other changes to exhaust or just the X pipe?
I look forward to the clips as well as the dyno info.
By the way, who do you use for the dyne?

I'm considering a De-Cat and X-Pipe replacement for my GS whilst leaving the standard valved back boxes in place, has anbody had this done? if so how did you find it? also has anybody had problems getting their GS through an MOT once having the De-cat fitted?

Thanks
