Whist in Le Mans a few weeks back, Loz was nosing round my car and noticed that the Maserati script below the radio was missing from my car. Strange I thought so upon closer inspection, there was no evidence of it ever being there...no glue or the faint outline of it.

Its this a model specific thing or did the bloke in the factory just forget to fit it?

Needless to say, me being me, I bought one and fitted it yesterday, only £7 from good old Eurospares.

Yeah, it is too big...........................pity the script appears integral to the ashtray.......but must ask anyways!

The script is 3 lugged on the rear and heat welded in 3 holes of the ashtray surface. This is part of the ashtray but is very delicate because of the 3 fixing points and the fact that the item is a very weak flimsy plastic.
also needs to be very low profile so that you can open and close the ashtray.Though i dont smoke so makes no odds to me.

or the guigiaro design?
I thought that the spiders rear glove box was rather ordinary so purchased a GS side log for around £7 and placed that on the centre of the glove box.
Looks awesome and a custom feature IMHO.
I sadly have started to bling ( in a tasteful way) and have coated the door trims in carbon and got a GS carbon wheel but i am not sure that i like the wheel or its "feel" so may revert back to the standard leather one.
Its one i bought from ebay for £380 or so but it was i think a pale grey and sprayed black "in situe" so the rear still grins this pale grey and a couple of small "nail scuffs" also reveal this pale grey.(for the money i think i dont like it) maybe at £250 i would get it redone right but spray- can-black is not a long term solution LOL
I wanted to also get the centre consul carbon but i think this is going to be a little more of a challange.
So still after a genuine GS carbon steering wheel at the right price.

The chrome on my "Maserati" script under the radio is starting to peel and I can't stand it (the devil is in the details!). I'm going to attempt to get it replaced under warranty. If not, it's good to know it's just stuck on there and probably easy (and cheap) to replace.

Hi Andrew,
looks like it is available to order from Eurospares (£7.17) part no. 67726300,
do check if it is the correct one...
Regards,
Enzo.

Andrew, if its still under main dealer warranty, they will replace this, they are usually pretty good on warranty items.

Yes, original 4 year / 50K mile warranty. Bringing it in tomorrow for a list of issues that need to be addressed before the warranty expires.

4 year 50k miles???? I thought it was 3 years unlimited. It may be an aftermarket, or the Trident extension if your lucky. The aftermarket one will not be as accommodating.
